From the top, you will witness mesmerizing views of the Annapurna Range and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). Looking downward, you can also enjoy stunning aerial views of the Pokhara Valley, Begnas Lake, and Phewa Lake.

The downhill walk continues through terraced farmlands, scenic villages, and beautiful natural landscapes before reaching another settlement, Kaulekote. Pickup and Drive from the Hotel to Begnas Lake
The representatives from Marvel Treks will pick you up in the morning and take you on a scenic drive to Begnas Lake. Here, you can enjoy the serenity of Begnas Lake, with its calm blue waters flowing gently with the morning breeze.
Ascend to Kalikasthan Village (1,370 Meters)
From Begnas Lake, the day hike toward Thulakot begins. The trail first leads you to the beautiful Kalikasthan village. The village is sparsely populated by Gurung communities who maintain traditional houses and cultural lifestyles.
Upon reaching Kalikasthan, you will be amazed by the villagers’ way of life, their warm hospitality, and the natural beauty surrounding the village. Kalikasthan also offers magnificent views of the Annapurna Massif along with an authentic glimpse into local culture.
Hike Towards Thulakot (1,800 Meters)
After spending some time exploring Kalikasthan Village, you will begin the second phase of the hike toward Thulakot (Thulkote), situated at an altitude of 1,800 meters. Compared to Kalikasthan, Thulakot has a slightly denser settlement, though the peace, serenity, and natural beauty remain unchanged.
From Thulakot, you can enjoy one of the most spectacular views of the Annapurna Range and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), along with a stunning panorama of the Pokhara Valley. This viewpoint also provides a rare bird’s-eye view of five lakes of Pokhara—Begnas, Maidi, Khaste, Nyureni, and Phewa Lake—all visible from a single spot.
If you feel hungry after the hike, you can enjoy lunch at Thulakot. The local teahouses serve traditional meals that reflect the authentic flavors of the region and the warm hospitality of the locals.
Return to Begnas Lake
After lunch and spending quality time enjoying the scenery and local interactions, you will begin your descent back toward Begnas Lake. The downhill walk continues through scenic landscapes filled with nature’s beauty. Along the way, you will pass through Kaulekote Village, where you can briefly explore before continuing your descent.
From Kaulekote, it takes approximately 3 hours to reach Begnas Lake. Once there, you will cross the lake by boat. On the other side, a representative from Marvel Treks will be waiting to drive you back to your hotel, marking the end of the Kalikasthan Day Hike (Thulakot Hiking from Begnas Lake).
