Traverse Bosnia on a 6-day circular journey from Sarajevo, uncovering powerful war history at the Tunnel of Hope and stepping into traditional life at authentic ethno villages. Explore a سلسلة of medieval fortresses in Srebrenik, Doboj, Tešanj, Jajce, and Travnik, each revealing layers of Bosnia’s strategic and cultural past. Admire the spectacular Jajce Waterfall, where two rivers meet dramatically in the heart of town, and wander through charming historic centers recognized for their heritage value.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Sarajevo to Tuzla
- Depart Sarajevo and travel to the Tunnel of Hope Museum, an underground passage that played a crucial role during the 1990s siege.
- Continue to Etno Avlija Mačkovac to experience traditional Bosnian architecture and rural lifestyle.
- Arrive in Tuzla and settle into accommodation.
Day 2 – Tuzla to Doboj via Srebrenik
- Depart Tuzla and travel to Srebrenik Fortress, one of the best-preserved medieval fortresses dating back to the 14th century.
- Continue to Doboj and explore the historic Doboj Fortress, a strategic stronghold from the 15th century.
Check in and stay overnight in Doboj.
Day 3 – Doboj to Banja Luka via Tešanj
- Depart Doboj and travel to Tešanj Fortress, a well-preserved Ottoman-era stronghold overlooking the old town.
- Continue to Banja Luka.
- Visit the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, an impressive Serbian Orthodox church.
- Explore the historic Kastel Fortress along the Vrbas River.

Day 4 – Banja Luka to Jajce via Ljubačke Doline

- Continue to Jajce.
- Explore the peaceful town park and enjoy the natural surroundings.
Check in and stay overnight in Jajce.
Day 5 – Jajce Exploration
- Visit the iconic Jajce Waterfall, where the Pliva River meets the Vrbas River.
- Explore the Jajce Fortress overlooking the town.

Day 6 – Jajce to Sarajevo via Travnik

We provide this tour year-round. We recommend considering a tour before or after the high season when it is not too hot and not too crowded, yet all the sights and attractions are open. This is especially important for elderly people, who need to be careful about sun exposure and high temperatures.

Cut-off period: your booking will be accepted if there are no less than 14 days before the tour starts.

This is a private tour. Only your group will participate.

This tour accepts a minimum of 1 person and a maximum of 5 people.

This tour is available for solo travelers as an Exclusive Solo Tour (the tour will be just for you, without other travelers in the vehicle); the price for 1 person reflects this.

A single supplement is mandatory; solo travelers must pay extra to have their private room (except when the tour is booked for 1 person).

This tour (as well as our other tours) is available in English and Spanish.

As a private tour, this tour can be customized to fit your travel plans, personal interests, and schedule.

The tour includes breakfast only. As a rule, we will stay at each place of accommodation for only 1 night, so it makes no sense to pay for lunch and dinner there. Instead, let's enjoy the local cuisine.

Transportation is provided in a minivan with air conditioning and an English-speaking driver. Feel free to ask to stop whenever you need for a nice photo opportunity or coffee break.

Our prices include accommodations in 3-star hotels with breakfast, which are typically not located near historical centers with pedestrian streets. If you prefer better accommodations in terms of location and quality, please let us know.
