Itinerary

1. Day 1: La Paz – Sajama National Park

   • Depart early from La Paz and travel for approximately four hours across the Altiplano to Sajama National Park.
   • Enjoy views of Sajama Mountain, the highest volcano in Bolivia at 6,542 metres.
   • Observe Parinacota and Pomarape volcanoes, a renowned area for volcano photography.
   • Visit hot springs, geysers and areas shaped by volcanic activity over millions of years.
   • Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

2. Day 2: Sajama – Colonial Churches – Uyuni

   • Experience scenic landscapes inhabited by vicuñas and Andean birds such as ducks, geese and flamingos.
   • Visit colonial churches, tombs and pre-Columbian South Highland sites.
   • Travel approximately six hours from Sajama to the Uyuni Salt Flats region.
   • Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

3. Day 3: Uyuni Salt Flats – Isla Incahuasi

   • Discover the Uyuni Salt Flats and visit the Colchani salt mining area.
   • Walk across the surreal salt desert landscape.
   • Visit Isla Incahuasi, home to large cacti growing across the rocky island.
   • Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

4. Day 4: Altiplano Lagoons and Flamingos

   • Continue across the Altiplano towards Alota.
   • Visit colourful high-altitude lagoons inhabited by flamingos.
   • Experience the remote Andean desert landscapes.
   • Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

5. Day 5: Eduardo Abaroa Reserve – Laguna Colorada – Hito Cajón – San Pedro de Atacama

   • Visit the Eduardo Abaroa Andean Fauna National Reserve.
   • Travel through Dali Valley and reach Laguna Verde.
   • Visit Laguna Colorada, a red lagoon coloured by algae and minerals and home to flamingos.
   • Continue to Hito Cajón and cross the border into Chile.
   • Arrive in San Pedro de Atacama at approximately 15:30.
   • Meals included: Breakfast and lunch.
