Day 01

Full-Day Tour of Luxor's Ancient Highlights

Get picked up by your Egyptologist guide from your hotel in Luxor.
Start your visit on the West Bank and see the Valley of the Kings, a magnificent example of the grandeur of ancient funerary architecture. Many kings were buried in this valley. The best-known tombs include those of King Tutmosis I, Tutmosis III, Tut-Ankh-Amon, King Ramssess VI, King Mrenptah, and Amonhotep II.
Then, explore the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, built by Queen Hatshepsut, daughter of Thutmosis I, who ruled Egypt for about 20 years during the 18th Dynasty (1490-1469 BCE). She was the only Pharaonic woman to reign in ancient Egypt.
Pass by the Colossi of Memnon for about 15 minutes.
Return to the East Bank in Luxor to continue your tour with a visit to Karnak Temples, the greatest example of worship in history, dedicated to the God Amon, his wife Mut, and their son Khonsu.
End the tour by visiting Luxor Temple. It was built by Amunhotep III during the 18th Dynasty in the New Kingdom and was completed by Ramesses II during the 19th Dynasty.
