03:30 to 05:15 Travel comfortably towards Dinokeng Game Reserve during the early morning hours.
05:15 Arrive at Mongena Private Game Lodge for check-in, a briefing, and tea or coffee with traditional rusks.
05:30 to 08:00 Depart on a guided morning game drive in an open-air 4x4 safari vehicle and observe wildlife as the bush awakens.
08:00 to 10:00 Return to the lodge reception, relax briefly, and begin the journey back to Johannesburg.

Nature is unpredictable: this is a 100% wild, free-roaming Big 5 reserve. While sightings are excellent, animal encounters are not guaranteed. Rangers use their expert tracking skills to find the Big 5 for you.
Safety first: please follow your ranger's instructions at all times. Do not stand up in the vehicle or make loud noises when near the animals.
Since there is a 2-hour drive back to Johannesburg after the safari, we recommend downloading your favourite podcast or playlist, or simply chatting with your Trek Jozi guide/driver to learn more about the local culture and history of Gauteng province.
