Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi to Mount Kenya Bandas (2,900m)
- Pick up from Nairobi and drive through agricultural country to Chogoria town for lunch.
- Take a 4×4 to the edge of the bamboo forest.
- Trek 10 km through dense bamboo forest to Mount Kenya Bandas.
Dinner and overnight at Mount Kenya Bandas (3,000m).

Day 2: Mount Kenya Bandas to Minto’s Camp (4,200m)
- Begin early trek on a wide forest track with occasional wildlife sightings.
- Walk through heather and cross the Nithi River to reach the moorlands.
- Enjoy views of Gorges Valley, the Temple, lakes, mushroom rocks, and high peaks.
- Picnic lunch en route.
Dinner and overnight at Minto’s Camp.

Day 3: Minto’s Camp to Point Lenana (4,985m) and Judmiere Camp (3,300m)
- Predawn summit attempt starting at 03:00 hrs to reach Point Lenana for sunrise.
- Descend to Shipton’s Camp for breakfast.
- Continue a 5-hour descent via Mackinder’s Valley to Judmiere Camp.
Dinner and overnight at Judmiere Camp.

Day 4: Judmiere Camp to Nairobi
- Early morning breakfast and descend for approximately 2–3 hours to Sirimon Park gate.
- Catch a vehicle for the return journey to Nairobi, arriving by 17:00 hrs.
