Chobe Game Drive and Chobe River Sunset Cruise
Reach the Chobe National Park gate slightly before 06:30 AM to start the day with a half-day game drive in the park. This gives a good chance to get close to nature in specially adapted open 4x4 vehicles. Frequent lion sightings occur in Chobe, while eland, sable, and roan antelope are common at certain times of the year. Leopards are elusive but common in the area. Drives are typically along the waterfront, where game congregates to quench their thirst, with lions often lying in wait or simply dozing in the shade. Complimentary soft drinks are provided throughout the trip while you experience some of the best game viewing in Africa.
Continue the drive with your guide until lunch around noon. Lunch, served buffet style, will be at the Chobe Safari Lodge or a similar venue.
Relax after lunch.
Embark on an afternoon boat cruise on the Chobe River. This is a three-hour cruise starting at 3:00 PM and ending at 06:00 PM. The cruise offers an opportunity to see a host of waders and water birds, along with the ever-present crocodiles and lurking hippos. Chobe is renowned for large herbivores making their way down to the river to drink, most notably Cape buffalo and elephant. On the island, puku and lechwe are often seen, while on the banks, kudu, impala, and waterbuck are common. See the African sunset from the boat on the Chobe River. Enjoy soft drinks, tea, coffee, and a light snack on board.
Arrive at the Zimbabwe border at 07:00 PM and return to your hotel in Victoria Falls at around 08:00 PM.
