The itinerary

Day 01

Konye-Urgench Exploration and Darvaza Camp

Meet your Turkmen guide at the Dashoguz border and complete customs formalities.
Drive to Konye-Urgench (approx. 105 km) and explore the UNESCO World Heritage site, including mausoleums, minarets, and ancient city ruins, while learning about its history and resistance against Genghis Khan.
Continue through the Karakum Desert to the Darvaza Gas Crater (approx. 4 hours).
Arrive at Darvaza, admire the "Gates of Hell," and enjoy a traditional gazanlama dinner near the glowing crater.

Overnight stay in a yurt camp under the desert stars.

Day 02

Ashgabat Landmarks and Nomadic Traditions

Breakfast near the crater.
Drive to Ashgabat (approx. 4 hours).
Stop at Yerbent village to meet local nomads and learn about traditional Turkmen life.
Visit the Ashgabat Hippodrome to see the world-famous Ahalteke horses.
Lunch at a local restaurant.
Explore Saparmurat Ruhy Mosque and the Halk Hakydasy Memorial Complex in Berkewe.
Visit Old Nisa, the ancient Parthian fortress and UNESCO heritage site.
Enjoy an evening city tour of Ashgabat, including marble landmarks and central squares.

Overnight stay at a hotel in Ashgabat.

Day 03

Ancient Merv and Farap Border Transfer

Early breakfast and drive to Mary (approx. 4 hours).
Visit Ancient Merv, the Sultan Sanjar Mausoleum, Great Kyz Kala, and other historical sites.
Explore the local market and enjoy lunch.
Continue to Farap (approx. 4.5 hours) and complete border formalities.
