Day 01

Arrival, Village Welcome, and Handicraft Workshop

  • Arrive in Ndemban at 10:00 AM and receive a traditional welcome drink before meeting your community guide for an orientation on village customs and your homestay.
  • Settle into your homestay accommodation and begin an oxcart tour visiting the Alkalo, the blacksmith, and the cobbler.
  • Enjoy lunch at Abajorr Restaurant with ingredients sourced from the women's garden and local poultry.
  • Join your first handicraft workshop and learn Batik printing or tie-dye with the women's cooperative.
  • Spend free time visiting the Children's Centre, helping your homestay family with daily chores, or observing village life.
  • Share a home-cooked dinner with your homestay family, followed by cultural exchange and storytelling.

Mangroves, Forest Traditions, and Bread Making

  • After breakfast, take a boat trip through the mangroves before enjoying a guided forest walk to meet the bush doctor and learn about traditional medicine.
  • Return to the village for lunch at Abajorr Restaurant with fresh local ingredients.
  • Visit the bakery for a behind-the-scenes look at tapalapa bread making and participate in a hands-on workshop.
  • Choose between creek fishing with expert guides or a tour of the Women's Garden and Poultry focusing on sustainable agriculture.
  • Enjoy dinner with your homestay family and, if pre-booked, attend a traditional wrestling competition.

Garden Work, Soap Making, and Farewell

  • After breakfast, work alongside local women in the garden with seasonal activities such as planting, weeding, or picking produce.
  • Join your final handicraft workshop and learn to make natural soap from local ingredients.

  • Bid farewell to your homestay family and depart from Ndemban at 4:00 PM.
