Victoria Falls to Harare Across Zimbabwe

Day 1. Victoria Falls.

Also known as Mosi-oa-Tunya, meaning "The Smoke That Thunders" in the local Tonga language, Victoria Falls is famed for the powerful mist and thunderous noise created by the falls. The mist creates a unique microclimate that supports a rainforest ecosystem on the surrounding cliffs.

Matopos is a place of secrets, hidden valleys, concealed caves, and forgotten passages. It has long served as a refuge for both people and animals for eons. There is nothing quite to compare with it in Africa and, when viewed in the context of history, it becomes even more remarkable. The Bantu-speaking people who built Great Zimbabwe were not the original inhabitants of this part of Africa.
