This is a deep half-day immersion into the tradition of Santa Elena, where the Silletero culture, declared Intangible Cultural Heritage, comes to life.
9:00 a.m.: Welcome and Contact with Tradition (15 min)
Warm Welcome: Reception at the silletera farm (finca) with a typical Antioquian drink (sugar cane water with cheese or an herbal infusion).
Cultural Context: Introduction to the rich history and tradition of the silleteros, understanding the origin and meaning of the famous silletas (flower arrangements).
9:15 a.m.: Cultural Tour and Heritage (30 min)
Heritage Farm: Guided walk through the farm. The host explains their crucial role in the preservation of this tradition, recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
9:45 a.m.: Interactive Silleta Workshop (45 min)
Practical Demonstration: Observation of the different types of silletas (traditional, emblematic, monumental, and commercial) and their purpose.
Hands-on Activity: Practical, guided activity where the traveler can participate in the assembly of a silleta (optional).
Photo Moment: Unique opportunity to take photos with the silletas and the traditional silletero outfits.
10:30 a.m.: Guided Walk Among Flowers (45 min)
Living Gardens: Walk among the beautiful cultivations of hydrangeas, carnations, agapanthus, and other species.
Floral Process: Detailed explanation of the cultivation, cutting, and selection process of the flowers that bring the silletas to life.
Genuine Interaction: Conversation and direct interaction with the silletero hosts from different generations.
11:15 a.m.: Typical Lunch and Farewell (45 min)
Mountain Flavor: Enjoy a comforting typical lunch served at the farm.
