Day 01

From Sousse to Douz via El Jem and Matmata

• Pick up from the traveller's designated hotel.
• Begin the journey towards El Jem to explore its impressive Roman amphitheatre, one of the best preserved in the world and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
• Continue to Matmata, famous for its lunar-like landscapes. Visit a traditional troglodyte house, a typical Berber dwelling carved into the ground, and experience the locals' warm hospitality.
• Enjoy lunch at a troglodyte-style restaurant.
• Proceed to Douz, known as the gateway to the Sahara. Experience an excursion among the golden dunes of the desert by dromedary or carriage (long trousers recommended).
• Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel Sahara Douz 4-star or similar, located beside the Sahara Desert.

Day 02

From Douz to Tozeur across Chott el Jerid

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Stop at Dbebcha to admire the fascinating sandstone rock formations.
• Continue towards Tozeur, the capital of the oases, crossing the immense salt lake of Chott el Jerid. Witness mesmerising mirages if weather conditions permit.
• After lunch, visit the vast dunes of Oung el Jmel, the filming location of Star Wars, surrounded by spectacular desert scenery.
• Dinner and overnight stay at Mouradi Hotel 4-star or similar, or, depending on availability, at Dar Desert Rose, an elegant traditional house in Nefta's medina where time seems to stand still.

Day 03

Mountain Oases, Kairouan, and Return to Sousse

• Breakfast at the hotel.
• Depart towards the Atlas Mountains to visit the mountain oases of Chebika and Tamerza, known for their extraordinary natural beauty.
• Early lunch en route (limited dining options available).
• Continue to Kairouan, the fourth holiest city in Islam and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy a panoramic visit to the Great Mosque, the most important in the Maghreb region.
• Stop at a fixed-price shop in Kairouan offering quality souvenirs at reasonable rates.
• Transfer to the traveller's chosen hotel in Sousse to conclude the tour.
