The itinerary

1
Day 01

Arrival in Colombo and Minneriya Elephant Safari

  • Meet and greet at the airport or in Colombo.
  • Drive to Sigiriya (approx. 4.5 hours).
  • Enjoy an afternoon Minneriya Jeep Safari to see herds of wild elephants.
  • Relax at the hotel or enjoy Athreeya Ayurveda Spa.

Overnight in Sigiriya.

Accommodation: Athreeya Resort or similar.

Day 02

Sigiriya Rock Fortress, Village Tour, and Kandy

  • Climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress early in the morning.
  • Enjoy a village tour with a local lunch, including a bullock cart ride, canoe ride, and paddy walk.
  • Visit Dambulla Cave Temple.
  • Continue to Kandy (approx. 3 hours).
  • In the evening, visit the Temple of the Tooth and attend a Cultural Dance Show.

Overnight in Kandy.

Day 03

Tea Country Journey to Nuwara Eliya

  • Optional visit to the Royal Botanical Gardens after breakfast.
  • Enjoy a scenic drive to Nuwara Eliya through tea country.
  • Visit a tea factory and plantation, and stop at Ramboda Falls.
  • Spend the evening at leisure by Gregory Lake.

Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 04

Kitulgala Rafting and Return to Colombo

  • Drive to Kitulgala after breakfast.
  • Experience white-water rafting on the Kelani River.
  • Continue to Colombo or the airport (approx. 4 hours).
  • End of the tour.
