Half-Day Thangka Painting Class
- 08:30 – 09:00 - Hotel Pick-Up: Meet your guide at your hotel in Kathmandu and transfer to a local Thangka art studio in Kathmandu or Patan. Receive a warm welcome and introduction to the workshop.
- 09:00 – 09:30 - Introduction to Thangka Art: Learn the history, purpose, and spiritual significance of Thangka painting and understand how these sacred artworks are used for meditation and Buddhist rituals.
- 09:30 – 12:00 - Guided Painting Session: Sketch basic outlines of Buddhist motifs or mandalas, learn traditional grid proportions and brush techniques, and apply natural colors and gold detailing under the guidance of expert instructors.
- 12:00 – 12:30 - Tea Break & Artist Interaction: Enjoy herbal tea and interact with local artists to learn about their daily routines, techniques, and dedication to this sacred art form.
- 12:30 – 13:00 - Finishing Touches & Wrap-Up: Complete your mini Thangka painting, take photographs, receive a certificate of participation, and prepare for return transfer.
- 13:00 – 13:30 - Drop-Off at Hotel: Return to your hotel with your handmade Thangka and newfound artistic insights.
