The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Luanda and Flight to Lubango

Arrive in Luanda and meet the group and tour leader (for groups of 8+).
Take a domestic flight to Lubango.

Overnight at Kimbo do Soba Hotel, Lubango (B&B).

Day 02

Oncocua and the Ovatua Settlement

Drive to Oncocua (approx. 5 hours; route may vary by season).
Visit the village market and social centre to meet the Muhimba, Muhacaona, Mudimbas, Mutwa, and Mugambue peoples.

Overnight camping in Vatua village (F&B).

Day 03

Village Life in Oncocua

Spend a full day exploring daily life, crafts, and market activities.
Camp near the village (F&B).

Day 04

Muhimba and Muhacaona Community Visits

Visit Muhimba and Muhacaona communities.
Learn about livestock livelihoods, hairstyles, beadwork, and customary practices.

Overnight camping in a Muhacaona or Himba village (F&B).

Day 05

Oncocua to Chibia via Humbe and Ngambue

Depart to meet the Humbi people and learn about initiation rituals and hairstyles.
Continue with an afternoon drive to Chibia.

Overnight at Obama Lodge.

Day 06

Chibia Markets and Mumwila Traditions

Visit Mumwila communities and learn about jewellery and 'nontombi' hairstyle traditions.
Afternoon camping near Mucuma village (F&B).

Day 07

Serra da Leba to Garganta and Ngendelengo Camp

Drive along the scenic Serra da Leba road (EN280).
Stop at Mangueiras market and continue to Bibala, Garganta, and Munhino.
Meet Ngendelengo communities and camp nearby.

Day 08

Garganta to Namibe

Observe the Ngendelengo morning routines.
Drive to Namibe and explore the coastal and desert landscapes.
Accommodation at Casa2.

Day 09

Namibe to Virei and Tchitundo Hulo

Drive to Virei (approx. 5 hours) with a market stop along the way.
Visit the Tchitundo Hulo rock formations and cave paintings.
Camp near the caves (F&B).

Day 10

Mucubal Cemetery Visit and Return to Namibe

Visit the Mucubal cemetery, where hundreds of horns mark the graves.
Return to Namibe for accommodation.

Day 11

Kamilunga Red Canyon, Lagoa do Arco, and Tombua

Enjoy a 4x4 adventure in the Namibe coastal desert.
Visit Kamilunga Canyon and Lagoa do Arco (water levels permitting).
Explore the fishing town of Tombua and return to Namibe.

Day 12

Namibe to Luanda

Enjoy a free morning in Namibe.
Transfer to Namibe airport for your flight to Luanda.

Overnight in Luanda.

Day 13

Luanda City Tour and Departure

Visit Moon View Point, arts and crafts markets, the Military Museum, the Iron Palace, and other landmarks.
Transfer to Luanda airport for your international departure.

The program is flexible and may change due to weather, road conditions, or operational reasons.
Do your shopping in town a day before departure, as remote areas have limited supplies.
