Visit Swayambhunath Stupa and Kathmandu Durbar Square

Start your trip by visiting the Swayambhunath Temple, also known as the "Monkey Temple." This is a good place to enjoy panoramic views of Kathmandu city. If the weather is clear, most of Kathmandu can be seen from here. The stupa is situated on a hillock, and the site itself has stood as a hallmark of faith and harmony for centuries. The glory of Kathmandu Valley is said to have started from here.
Visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, which contains the palace of the king as well as Hindu monuments. There are many temples here, such as Taleju Temple and Kasthamandap Temple. In the Sanskrit language, kastha means "wood" and mandap means "covered shelter." The temple is made from a single tree without using any iron nails.
