Drive to the downtown area overlooking the Sule Pagoda, City Hall and the Mahabandoola Park.

Take a short walk onto the street, lined with massive colonial buildings and roadside vendors. Downtown Yangon host plenty of colonial buildings more than any other Southeast Asia countries.

Stop at the Strand Hotel and savour the warmth and atmosphere of the British era.

Continue to the Kandawgyi Park with a great view of the Shwedagon pagoda across the royal lake.

Proceed to see the Chaukhtatgyi reclining Buddha image and see the sparse pilgrims in silence. Learn about some of the Buddha's philosophy as well as life stories by visiting some monasteries around.

Do an evening visit to the Shwedagon Pagoda, the landmark of Yangon, plated with gold from top to bottom. The golden mountain rockets to the sky from a hill and pilgrims can be seen kneeling on the platform, offering candle/incent/flower in its vicinity. Internationally, this place is known to the world as a Waking, Winking & Wonder of Myanmar as it majestically flies up 100 m from the ground.

Go for an evening walk to China Town before dinner.
