Private Walking Tour of Prague Castle
- We'll begin our tour by witnessing the Changing of the Guard Ceremony, which takes place at the main entrance of Prague Castle every hour from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The ceremony is a colourful spectacle that features the traditional uniforms and fanfare of the castle's guards.
- Our next stop is the St. Vitus Cathedral, one of the most important religious landmarks in Prague. This Gothic masterpiece took almost 600 years to complete and houses the tombs of many Czech kings and saints. We'll also visit the St. Wenceslas Chapel, which is famous for its stunning frescoes and intricate stonework.
- Then, head to St. George's Basilica, one of the oldest surviving churches in Prague. This Romanesque gem dates back to the 10th century and features an impressive collection of Baroque paintings and sculptures.
- The Ancient Royal Palace is our next destination. This beautiful Renaissance building served as the residence of Czech kings and queens for centuries. We'll explore the palace's lavish halls and chambers, including the stunning Vladislav Hall, which is the largest medieval hall in Prague.
- Afterwards, proceed to the charming Golden Lane, a row of tiny houses that once housed the castle's goldsmiths, alchemists, and soldiers. Today, the houses have been turned into shops and museums, and visitors can stroll down this picturesque alley and imagine life in medieval Prague.
- Our final stop is the Dalibor Tower, a small castle tower that is shrouded in legend and folklore.
Note: The "Changing of the Guards" ceremony exists in two forms- The grand one at 12 pm is once a day, and the small one (with 5 soldiers only) takes place every hour.
