    • We shall meet at a point (hotel, café, restaurant) or any place you prefer in the Thamel area or Swayambhu area. The walk to Swayambhu Nath Stupa takes about 40 minutes from Thamel. Swayambhu Nath is the oldest heritage site of Kathmandu, it lies on the top of the hill, also commonly known as Monkey Temple. You will see the harmony between Hinduism & Buddhism in the temple complex.
    • Visit monasteries, offering the butter candle, enjoying the activities of monkeys, learn about Buddhism philosophy are some highlights in this area. Walking the stairs up from the bottom of the hill all the way up is interesting as well. If you are interested, you can also learn about the THANKA, a traditional canvas painting based on Buddhism philosophy. Also, this is one of the best souvenirs of Nepal.
    • After the completion of the tour of Swayambhu, we shall walk towards Kathmandu Durbar Square, another 40-50 minutes walking. In Kathmandu Durbar Square, we shall see ancient Palaces such as Hanuman Dhoka, Basantapur, Gaddi Baithak, Kumari Ghar, a museum, Taleju temple & different temples. Touring this square takes more than an hour. Here you can see the best examples of the Pagoda styles. If you are lucky enough, you can also see the KUMARI, the living goddess.

A Spiritual Encounter at Swayambhu Nath Stupa

Paying my respects at the Swayambhu Nath Stupa, known as the Monkey Temple, was a profound spiritual experience. The stupa's serene ambience and breathtaking views of Kathmandu Valley inspired a sense of reverence and tranquillity. As I observed the harmonious coexistence of different religions, cultures, and heritages, I felt a profound appreciation for Nepal's rich diversity.
