Tour of Split
- We will begin our tour from the central waterfront of Riva. Going into Diocletian’s Palace through the South Gate, we will explore Roman architecture as we walk through the foundation level of the building, which is still intact. Then, we will stop by the upper floor - an imperial apartment that has become a residential zone still inhabited by locals. We will exit through Vestibul and will reach the central square Peristyle.
- Take a breathtaking view of once Diocletian’s mausoleum, today the Cathedral of St. Domnius, which is one of the best-preserved outdoor Roman monuments in Split. Then, we will go towards the Temple of Jupiter. As we go through medieval streets full of charming shops and restaurants, we will reach the Golden Gate, the north entrance to the city, famous for being home to a massive statue of bishop Grgur Ninski.
- After stepping out of the Roman palace, we will enter a Venetian part of the city, constructed in the 15th century. Moving through the picturesque streets connecting two main squares of the area, Piazza and Fruit Square, we will complete a full circle around the historic core as we return to the waterfront. Finally, the tour ends with the most beautiful outdoor living room - Riva and a view of the port of Split.
