The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Colombo and City Tour

Meet the guide at Bandaranaike International Airport and transfer to the hotel in Colombo.
After checking in at the hotel, go on an afternoon city tour of Colombo.
Return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 02

Polonnaruwa Ancient Capital

After breakfast, proceed to Polonnaruwa, the second capital of Sri Lanka from the 11th to the 13th century AD. This ancient city is today one of the most beautiful centres of the island's cultural heritage.
Visit the remains of the Royal Palace and Parakrama Samudra, a huge human-made water reservoir.
Check in at the hotel for dinner.

Day 03

Sigiriya, Dambulla, Matale and Kandy

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, followed by a visit to Sigiriya Rock Fortress.
Encounter the remains of the palace and its surroundings.
En route to Kandy, visit the Dambulla Rock Cave Temple and a spice garden in Matale.
Check in at the hotel before an afternoon visit to the Temple of the Tooth and a Kandyan cultural dance performance.
At the end of the day, return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 04

Peradeniya, Pinnawela and Nuwara Eliya

Have breakfast at the hotel.
On the way to Nuwara Eliya, take the Upper Lake Drive and visit the Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya, the Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawela, and a tea plantation to see women plucking the 'Green Gold' tea leaves.
Upon arrival in Nuwara Eliya, take a late afternoon tour of Little England.
Check in at the hotel.

Day 05

Yala or Bundala Wildlife Experience

Depart for Yala after breakfast.
Go on an afternoon visit to Yala National Park or Bundala Wildlife Park.
See a vast array of animals, including deer, peacock, elephant, and wild buffalo, and lucky visitors may get to see a leopard or bear.
At the end of the tour, check in at the hotel for dinner.
