Visit the UNESCO recognised Tamgaly petroglyphs from Almaty and explore one of Kazakhstan's most important archaeological sites. Most of these ancient rock carvings date back to the Bronze Age, and the vanished civilisation that created them left behind more than 4,000 drawings as a record of their existence and way of life.

During the summer and autumn months, you can see many fields of watermelons, sugar beet, potatoes, raspberries, and strawberries along the way.

Day 01

Tamgaly Petroglyphs Excursion from Almaty

  • Drive west from Almaty, passing through the settlement of Kaskelen and the villages of Uzynagash, Chemolgan, Samsy, and others. During the summer and autumn months, you can see many fields of watermelons, sugar beet, potatoes, raspberries, and strawberries along the way. It takes about 2 hours to reach the national historical park.

  • On the way, pass the Kopa railway station of the Siberian path.

Departure back to Almaty city at 2-3 pm.
