Get an introduction to the world of runes which includes not only the historical, cultural and religious meaning of the runes but also hands-on instructions on how to make and read runes plus a personal reading for all participants.

    • Drive on a beautifully scenic 40km route to Eyrarkot in Kjós.

    • Meet up with the Priestess, the respected Icelandic volva and runemaster Jóhanna Harðardóttir, who will welcome you at a cute country-inn in charming Kjós, a little under a half an hour drive from Reykjavík. 

    • Relish the traditional winter soup and bread along with spoonfuls from Jóhanna´s deep well of wisdom on the origin and meaning of the runes and how they connect with the elements. 

    • In a little workshop, she will show you how you can make your own set of rules and give you the basics in using and reading them. The workshop concludes with a personal reading by the völva for all participants.

    • Look out for Northern Lights on the way back and stop to enjoy them if they make an appearance, so dress well in case!
