Fredrick and his colleagues organized a lovely day-trip for me in Marangu- one of the most popular gates to Kilimanjaro. We arrived in the town a night before and had a brilliant cooking lesson from the guys. The next day I broke apart from the fellow travelers after visiting a local market and Fredrick was so kind and took me on a quick hike to Marangu gate. As he explained, this hike is often done as acclimatization before climbing Kili. As we walked, Fredrcik told me all about the actual hike, loads of stories about the local area and answered pretty much all my 1001 questions about all aspects of life in Moshi and northern part of Tanzania.  We met up with the other travelers again for lunch and headed back to Moshi soon after. Fredrcik is very knowledgeable and also considerate. I was a female traveling alone and he cleverly arranged for me to join in with some other travelers for some activities and still do my own thing as well.

I have known him organizing our trip. I found him balanced in his decision making, thoughtful, considerate and caring.

The organization Eco Africa supports sustainable tourism. They make sure that the money that tourists spent on their trips also benefits the Tanzanian society and communities. I visited the projects and communities they support – and I can clearly say that you can travel with a good conscience when you travel with Eco Africa! Fredrick, the guide, is a university student who studies tourism. Therefore his guidance is very professional and helpful. He is very friendly, speaks very fluent english and makes sure that everything you need is arranged in time. You always feel well taken care off!
