I visited NahTrang in August last year and I can say the highlight of the month I had there was meeting Le Loan, better know as Bi to me. I met on the very first morning in NahTrang. I stopped for breakfast at a small restaurant she had, Bi sat down with me and with her very good English we had some interesting conversation about her life in Vietnam. We hit it off which is easy to do with Bi as she is such a nice genuine and honest person. I would see and speak with her most days. On about my third day in Nah Trang Bi invited me to go on a picnic to a waterpark with her family which consisted of her husband Alvin ,son Ben and her brother and his wife and there two children, Naturally I was delighted to be asked and accepted the warm invitation. Well we had just the most wonderful day and it was quite an adventure, I went on the back of a motor bike with Alvin and Bi had Ben on her bike and her brother and family on another bike. The journey took a bit less than an hour. It was exciting trip weaving our way through the traffic to get out of the city and then travelling through some of the beautiful country side until we got to the park. Bi showed me about the park which contained some displays of traditional Vietnamese life.. Bi organized a barbeque and purchased the food and some drink. We sat around dinning leisurely with the pretty landscape in the background. After the nice lunch we sat around talking for a while and then the desire to get in the river and swim and cool down got too much, so that's where we headed. After a couple of hours in the water is was time to pack up and head back to the city, The return journey was just as exciting. It was a day I will always remember. Bi is a wonderful person with a big heart and she was so kind and helpful too me while I was in NahTrang. While in NahTrang I wanted to get some curtains made to take back to NZ. Bi was marvelous, she took me to the manufacture and I would tell Bi what I wanted and she did the perfect translation and I got the curtains made absolutely as I conveyed to Bi who conveyed to the lady who made them. We had to go and see the lady a few times and Bi happily gave up her time to help me and I was so grateful as it would have been a nightmare to do without her. She also took me out to some very Vietnamese eating places to share some of her favorite foods which I enjoyed very much. Bi looked after me for no other reason but the goodness of her heart. She was so good to me I call her my Mum in Vietnam. I could highly recommend Le Loan or as I prefer to call her Bi to be your guide as she would guarantee to have your best interests at heart and I know she would go that extra step to make sure you had an unforgettable time.
