Pretoria City Tour
- Pick up from the hotel at 8:00 am.
Visit the Voortrekker Monument. Situated in a beautiful setting, it is a unique monument that commemorates the pioneer history of Southern Africa and the history of the Afrikaners.
At this point, we may visit most diamond mining sites like the Premier diamond mine (the visit is optional).
Next is a 45 minutes visit to the Paul Kruger House, named after the former President of South Africa, who was in office during the Anglo-Boer war. Also, visit Church square, the office of the late Paul Kruger.
Take a tea break and a short walk to the Union Building, famously known as the South African president's official office. This is also where Nelson Mandela was sworn in as the first black, democratically elected South African president.
Lastly, the tour ends with a visit to the Melrose house, where the peace agreement treaty was signed to end the wars between the English and the Boers in 1901.
