Go for a hike in Fernkloof Nature Reserve, a nature reserve in the Kleinrivier Mountains above Hermanus, Western Cape Province, South Africa. It is 1,800 hectares in area and its altitude ranges from sea level to 842 metres. The reserve harbours over 1300 species of plant. Behold the fynbos, flora and fauna of the region. Be surrounded by mountains and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Fernkloof Nature Reserve Tour expand_more
- 7:30 am: Depart for your hike from the main entrance. This trail is the 8.2km Kanonkop to Lemoenkop Peak. Lead up along the Fernkloof valley while all along the way, observe the various Fynbos species that are flowering.
Continue on to the magnificent indigenous Boekenhoutsbos, a remnant Afromontane forest pocket, where some fabulous specimens of indigenous trees can be found. After your visit to the forest, make your way up the mountainside.
At the top of Kanonkop, take a rest and have a cup of coffee and snacks while enjoying the fabulous views before you continue on and down the Adder Ladder trail towards the Lemoenkop peak.
Head back to the entrance gate by 14:00.
