Itinerary

1. Day 1: Upington to Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and Twee Rivieren

   • Depart Upington at 8:30 AM from your guesthouse and travel to Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.
   • Stop at Norokei Salt Pans to experience a natural salt mine and visit the Khomani San Bushmen to view traditional art.
   • Arrive at Twee Rivieren around 12:30 PM and settle into your chalet for a short rest.
   • Embark on an afternoon game drive exploring the vast 38,000 square kilometre park until gate closing time.
   • Search for lions, leopards, cheetahs, spotted hyenas, gemsbok, hartebeest, springbok, wildebeest, and diverse birdlife including raptors.

   Overnight: Twee Rivieren Chalets
   Meals: Light lunch and dinner

2. Day 2: Twee Rivieren to Mata Mata via Auob Riverbed

   • Wake up one hour before gate opening and begin a morning game drive towards Mata Mata along the dry Auob Riverbed.
   • Search for the famous Kalahari Lion and desert species including meerkats.
   • Arrive at Mata Mata in the afternoon and check into your chalet.
   • Depart for an afternoon game drive to further explore this remote section of the park.

   Overnight: Mata Mata Chalets
   Meals: Breakfast, light lunch and dinner

3. Day 3: Mata Mata to Upington via Twee Rivieren

   • Wake up one hour before gates open and begin your southern journey through the park.
   • Learn about the unique landscapes and ecological secrets of the Kalahari Desert during guided drives.
   • Travel for approximately four to five hours towards Twee Rivieren.
   • Depart the park around midday and return to Upington, arriving in the late afternoon to conclude the tour.

   Meals: Breakfast and light lunch
