We in Unexplored Socotra eco tourism are a group of socotris who have been trained for years by the UNDP-Socotra Conservation and Development Program in various aspects of ecotourism, particularly fauna, flora and tourism services and management.  We have also been working closely with the Socotra Eco-tourism Society.Our aim is to run a purely Socotrai operation (currently putting this number up to two in the island).There are many tour operators, based on the mainland, who service  the island, but these do not take nearly as much care of the local environment, economy and people as we do, Socotra is our home and we are doing our utmost  to develop sustainable tourism that benefits the wider spectrum of this beautiful and unique island.Unlike the mainland operators, our overhead costs are minimal, and we guarantee that all our fees come to the benefit of the local population.

What does Unexplored Eco-tourism aim to?1.Provide and maintain the best quality of service to our guests, all whilst respecting and valuing our culture, history and environment.2.Ensure that all our staff, are from the island and are paid competitive rates of pay, since we hope to maximize leakage of the income stimulated from tourism back into the local economy.None of our money is sent back to the mainland, or any where else.3.We do our best to source sustainable produced and grown local materials and food from the island.The guides and drivers: All the guides that employ are from the socotra, and have been trained by socotra  ecotourism Society.They are able to speak  a good standard of English, fluent in Arabic and Socotri.We advise very strongly that if you travel around the island with an accredited guide.They will explain and share the vast knowledge of locals fauna, flora, culture and history.They will ensure that your visit to Socotra is smooth, pleasurable, and very memorable.
