Cu Chi Tunnels Exploration
- Tour options: Morning time or afternoon time
- 7:30 - 8:00 am (12:45 - 1:00 pm) Our car & tour guide will pick you up in your hotel area District 1. Start your tour to visit Cu Chi Tunnels.
- Just 70km Northwest of Saigon, the Cu Chi area resides at the end of the Ho Chi Minh Trail and served as the base from where Vietnamese guerrilla Soldier attacked Sai Gon.
- The fighters of Cu Chi took the war underground by developing a network of tunnels that stretched as far as Cambodia, which included: meeting rooms, kitchens and ventilation systems. These tunnels served as an effective network for engaging in guerrilla warfare against U.S troops.
- Before exploring the tunnels, you will watch an introductory video about how the tunnels were made and how Vietnamese people survived in the harsh conditions of the war time.
- Then, spend your time exploring the remaining areas and tunnel system, including special living areas with kitchens and bedrooms alongside other martial facilities like weapons factories, field hospitals, and command centers helping whoever lives inside the tunnels meet their basic needs.
- During the war, many hidden trap doors and dangerous traps were also placed within the maze-like tunnels for security purposes.
- Afterward, special tea and cassava (guerrillas’ food during the war) will be served.
- On the way back, we will drop you off at your hotel in District 1.
