Lao Chai, Y Linh Ho, and Ta Van Villages
Follow your Vietnamese tour guide to Lao Chai village, a beautiful local minority village located approximately 13 km outside Sapa. Start your trip downhill during the first part of this hike. From the main road, a small path will lead you into the Muong Hoa Valley.
You will cross the bridge in Y Linh Ho village, a charming little town inhabited by the Hmong minority, then follow the road as it goes up and down.
You will walk along the edges of the rice fields in the shadow of the mighty Fansipan Mountain rising behind you.
You will cross some hills before entering Lao Chai Village, home to one of the oldest and largest Hmong communities.
From Lao Chai, you will walk to Ta Van Village, where you will stay overnight. This village is mostly inhabited by the Giay and Hmong ethnic minorities. If it is the right time of year, you can see the people planting rice or harvesting it and learn the differences between the ethnic minority groups.
Reach the homestay. Here, you can walk around the village or watch the family cook dinner.
