Day 01

Hoi An Ancient Town Walk and Lantern-Making Experience

  • Get picked up by your Hoi An tour guide at your hotel and start the walking tour of Hoi An.
  • Make your way to the ancient city of Hoi An and visit the Japanese Covered Bridge, built by the Japanese community in the 16th century. Your tour guide will tell you more about this beautiful bridge's architecture and stories.
  • Explore the Tan Ky old house, a 200-year-old merchant house with fabulous Vietnamese, Japanese, and Chinese architecture. Your tour guide will explain its Fengshui features and the settings of this ancient house.
  • Continue to the Phuc Kien Assembly Hall, a typical Chinese assembly hall where businessmen worship the Goddess Mazu, the sea mother. She helps and rescues people in accidents on the ocean. Phuc Kien Assembly Hall is a significant business club in the Chinese community.
  • Go to a local handicraft shop to learn how to make Hoi An lanterns. The locals there will guide you on how to make the typical traditional lantern of Hoi An. After making the beautiful lantern, you will keep what you made as your souvenir.
  • Move along to Hoi An Market, the biggest market in the ancient town of Hoi An. Your tour guide will explain how to bargain.
