Itinerary
-
Visitors' Center - Movie and Cyclorama
- Starting point will dictate first stop. If guests are picked up from Washington, DC or Baltimore, we will have a comfort/rest stop on the way.
- Visit the center and learn to get an orientation of the battlefield.
- Guide gives special tour tailored to the group, so please share your home state, any special interests, or ancestors from the war with me when you book so I can ensure that the tour is tailored to your needs.
- At the visitors' center, you can watch the film and see the unique 19th-century cyclorama, which gives a sound and light show explaining Pickett's Charge, the deciding fight of the battle on July 3, 1863. The fees for this are included. The museum is outstanding but takes about 90 minutes to be properly viewed. You may wish to budget about 90 minutes to 2 hours for the museum, film and cyclorama. I can create and lead a tour of 90 minutes to all day (if needed) on and around the battlefield.
- Tour of the charming town of Gettysburg - historic sites, the cemetery, and places to eat or have drinks. There are several wineries in Adams County, near the battlefield.
