Itinerary

1. Day 1. Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

   • Arrive at Entebbe International Airport and meet the ML Afrika Safaris & Tours Uganda representative for a briefing.

   • Drive approximately 7 hours to Bwindi with a lunch stop en route.

   • Enjoy changing landscapes including tropical rainforest, savannah fields, and the terraced Kigezi Highlands, often called the Switzerland of East Africa.

   • Check in at the lodge on arrival.

   • Visit the Batwa community for a cultural experience and storytelling.

   • Spend the evening at leisure in preparation for trekking.

   Meals: Lunch and dinner.

2. Day 2. Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

   • Have an early breakfast and report to the park headquarters for a detailed trekking briefing with rangers and trackers.

   • Begin the trek from the last known gorilla location; trekking typically takes 1–6 hours depending on the family location and terrain, with altitudes exceeding 7,500 feet.

   • Navigate rough and sometimes muddy paths; a steady pace and physical fitness are important.

   • Spend up to one unforgettable hour with the gorillas once located, following all viewing guidelines.

   • Carry sufficient drinking water and a packed lunch.

   • Recommended gear: Waterproof jacket, long pants, gardening gloves, sturdy hiking boots, gaiters if available, and dry bags or zip-lock bags for cameras.

   • After trekking, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi and relax by the lakeshore.

   Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

3. Day 3. Lake Bunyonyi to Entebbe or Kampala and Departure

   • Have breakfast and begin the long drive back to Entebbe or Kampala.

   • Stop for lunch en route and visit the Equator line for photos and the water–hemisphere demonstration.

   • Arrive at Entebbe International Airport at approximately 6:00 PM for drop-off.

   • Flight note: Book an evening international flight to allow comfortable connection time.

   Meals: Breakfast and lunch.
