Itinerary

1. Day 1 – Entebbe to Lake Mburo National Park

   • Get picked up from your hotel or Entebbe International Airport by an English-speaking driver-guide.

   • Begin the drive to Lake Mburo National Park, located along the Kampala–Mbarara highway.

   • Pass through rural scenery and enjoy optional refreshment stops en route.

   • Arrive at the park and check in to your lodge.

   • If time allows, go on an afternoon or evening game drive.

   • Spot wildlife such as zebras, impalas, buffaloes, hippos, and possibly a rare leopard.

   Spend the evening relaxing at your lodge.

2. Day 2 – Nature Walk and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

   • Wake early and enjoy breakfast at your lodge.

   • Join a guided morning nature walk with a Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger.

   • Observe zebras, giraffes, elands, topis, buffaloes, and other antelopes.

   • Hike to a hilltop for panoramic views of Lake Mburo.

   • Return to the lodge, check out, and begin your drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

   • Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge and rest briefly.

   • Set out on a late afternoon game drive in the Kasenyi plains.

   • Look for elephants, lions, warthogs, antelopes, and possibly a leopard.

   • Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

3. Day 3 – Chimpanzee Trekking and Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel

   • Have an early breakfast and transfer to Kyambura Gorge.

   • Trek through the gorge to find chimpanzees and other primates.

   • Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

   • In the afternoon, enjoy a two-hour boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel.

   • View hippos, elephants, crocodiles, and a wide variety of birds.

   Optionally, take a brief game drive before heading back to the lodge.

4. Day 4 – Morning Game Drive and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

   • Begin the day with a sunrise safari in the Kasenyi plains.

   • Spot buffaloes, elephants, lions, and other wildlife.

   • Return to the lodge for breakfast and check out.

   • Drive through the Ishasha sector to search for tree-climbing lions.

   • Enjoy lunch or a snack en route.

   • Continue the journey to the Ruhija sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

   • Arrive at your lodge in the early evening and relax.

   Optional: Join a lion tracking experience with researchers for an additional fee (USD 120).

5. Day 5 – Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

   • Eat an early breakfast and transfer to the ranger station.

   • Attend a briefing on gorilla trekking etiquette and safety.

   • Enter the forest with your guide to track a habituated gorilla family.

   • Spend one unforgettable hour observing the mountain gorillas.

   • Return to the lodge for lunch, then check out.

   • Travel to Lake Bunyonyi, surrounded by terraced green hills.

   • Arrive in the late afternoon and admire the lake’s 29 scenic islands.

   Relax and spend the night at a lakeside lodge.

6. Day 6 – Return to Entebbe via Equator Stop

   • Enjoy a leisurely breakfast with lake views.

   • Begin your drive back to Entebbe.

   • Stop at the Equator in Kayabwe for photographs and souvenir shopping.

   • Have lunch en route.

   • Arrive at Entebbe International Airport in the late afternoon or early evening.

   • Connect to your international flight or transfer to your hotel.
