Itinerary
-
Day 1 Transfer to Queen Elisabeth National Park
Your pick-up from the hotel or airport marks the start of your journey with an English-speaking tour driver. Enroute to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a tourist hotspot in Uganda, marvel at diverse environments housing ten primate species, over 600 bird varieties, and iconic animals like elephants and lions. A lunch break punctuates your journey, leading to a late afternoon or evening arrival at the park. After checking into your accommodation, unwind and, time permitting, embark on a thrilling game drive, capturing the essence of the park's vibrant wildlife during the late afternoon to evening hours.
-
Day 2 Morning Game Drive and Afternoon along Kazinga Channel
Rise early, enjoy breakfast, and embark on a morning drive through Kasenyi plains, scouting for Cape buffalos, elephant herds, and elusive lions. Keep a keen eye for leopards. Return to your accommodation for a midday break and lunch. The afternoon unfolds with a captivating two-hour boat ride on the Kazinga Channel, connecting Lakes George and Edward. Marvel at the wildlife spectacle, including hippos, elephants, crocodiles, and a variety of birds along the water's edge. Post-boat ride, choose between relaxing at the lodge or extending the adventure with another game drive until 6:30 or 7 pm, immersing yourself further in the park's captivating wildlife encounters.
-
Day 3 Ishasha Game Drive and Transfer to Bwindi
Start your day with an early game drive in Kasenyi plains, on the lookout for Cape buffalos, elephant herds, lions, and possibly elusive leopards. Return to the lodge, check out, and proceed to the Ishasha sector for a unique opportunity to spot tree-climbing lions. While there's a 70% chance of sighting them, the challenge adds to the excitement, especially when they navigate the tall grass in search of prey. The sight, if encountered, is both beautiful and unforgettable. Following Ishasha, head to your accommodation near Bwindi National Park (Ruhija sector), arriving at 6 pm. Alternatively, opt for chimp tracking in Kyambura instead of a sunrise game drive, provided you obtain permission beforehand. Plan your chimp tracking adventure for a unique and enriching experience.
-
Day 4 Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, head to the rangers' station for essential trekking guidance. A ranger will brief you on the do's and don'ts. Venture into the Bwindi Forest, where the time and terrain dynamically shift with the movement of these majestic primates. Once you encounter a gorilla group, savor an hour observing these rare giants, a truly memorable experience. Return to your accommodation, check out, and proceed to the breathtaking Lake Bunyonyi. Surrounded by verdant hills reaching heights of 2,200 to 2,478 meters, the lake's true allure lies in its 29 diverse islands, each a marvel of different shapes and sizes. Gazing at these scattered islands evokes a profound sense of wonder and awe, making it a captivating spectacle worthy of an entire day's admiration.
-
Day 5 Drive back to Entebbe
You can enjoy a peaceful breakfast while looking at the beautiful little islands of Bunyonyi directly in front of you. After that, you will start your journey back to Entebbe. You will arrive there in the late afternoon or evening, just in time for your departure. You will have a break and eat lunch at the Equator. Don't forget to capture some special moments with photos.
