Embark on this 8 days safari trip which takes us to destinations of primates offering encounters with gentle mountain gorillas at Bwindi Impenetrable national park . Enjoy gorilla trekking on foot here, home to up to 50% of the world’s largest living primates, mountain gorillas. At Kibale national park, marvel at the natural habitat with one of the highest densities and biodiversity of primates in all of Africa is home to 13 primate species.
Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up from airport and transfer to the hotel
- Arrive in Kampala following the flight from your country of origin. Land at Entebbe international airport, the primary gateway to the pearl of Africa, where you will find a company representative dedicated to offering you a courteous welcome to the pearl of Africa. After a short briefing about your 8 days on the Uganda safari, you will connect to the hotel in Kampala for relaxation, dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale national park
- After an early morning breakfast, embark on a 315km or 5-6 hours scenic drive passing through the tea plantation and lush green countryside to Kibale national park, home to 13 primates, containing the highest primate density of any area on earth, including 1500 chimpanzee, our closest living relatives.
- Arrive and settle for lunch in the tourism city of the pearl of Africa, Fort Portal, The seat of the ancient kingdom of Toro in the shadows of legendary mountains of the moon (Rwenzori Mountain). Afterwards, we shall proceed to Kibale for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking, visit Amabele caves and transfer to queens Elizabeth
- After early morning breakfast at 6:30, meet up with the driver and connect to Kibale’s Kanyanchu visitor center for briefing, after which we will be allocated an experienced guide and start trekking exercise at 8:00 in the forest in search of our closest cousin (chimpanzee) taking about 1-4hours depending on their location boosting chances of spotting other primate species honest monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, vervet monkeys, grey checked mangabey and white and black Columbus monkeys.
- Upon locating chimpanzees, you will have an hour of sighting them feed, play, fight, and hunt as you observe their behaviours at close range, after which we connect with the guide at the starting point for transfer to the lodge and settle for lunch.
- Later in the afternoon, check out of the lodge and link up with the guide and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park with a visit to Amabeere caves. Famous for sighting breast-like features and the Nyinamwiru story will amuse you. Visit the Crater Lake fields like Kigere and Wabikere and summit the famous Kweganya hills for panoramic views of crater lakes with hollow shapes and Rwenzori Mountain.
- Retreat from the activity and connect to Queen Elizabeth national park along 80km or 1-2 hours along Fort portal-pond Road, enjoying the scenic views of mountain Rwenzori, arriving in the park with thrilling views of wildlife as we connect to lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 4: Morning game drive (kasenyi) and Boat cruise (40km Kazinga channel)
- After an early morning breakfast, embark on a 3-4hours morning game drive in kasenyi, exploring Queen Elizabeth national park’s rolling savannah landscape dotted with counts of wild game, including elephant, buffalo, lion, waterbuck, leopard, Uganda kob, warthog, and not forgetting about the birds and primates.
- Retreat from the activity and drive back to the lodge for lunch session, after which we shall gather at Mweya for an afternoon 2 hours thrilling boat cruise along the 40km kazinga channel to view some of the largest concentrations of hippos in the world, crocodiles, elephants and buffaloes Basking across the shores of the lake.
- Retreat from the activity and connect to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi National park with enroute game drive in Ishasha sector.
- After an early morning breakfast at 6:30 am, connect with the ranger guide and embark on a 3-4-hour journey towards the Ishasha sector in search of tree-climbing lions resting on fig and acacia tree branches.
- After your game drive session, transfer to the nearest lodge for relaxation and lunch before proceeding to Bwindi Impenetrable national park. You will arrive in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi and evening community walk.
- After an early morning breakfast, connect to the park headquarters with packed lunch and meet with the ranger guide for briefing; at precisely 8 am, we embark on the unforgettable trek through the jungle in the company of the ranger searching for the great mountain apes, our closest relatives sharing more than 97 % of our DNA. In contrast, we will likely see many different primates on the trek, like white and black monkeys and L’hoest monkeys. After one hour encounter with the mountain gorilla you transfer back to the park centre for the gorilla tracking certificate award, and connect to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.
- Later on in the evening, embark on a community tour and visit the last remaining members of the Batwa pygmy tribe living harmoniously with great giants of the forest in Bwindi. While at their community, we shall learn traditional forest practices of the hunter-gatherer and listen to their stories and attend their cultural dance performances before heading back to the lodge for overnight

Day 7: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, boat cruise and visit to Community Island
- After an early morning breakfast at 7:00 am, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi (place of many little birds), Africa’s second deepest lake traversing through the Kigezi highlands referred to as the little Switzerland of Africa with stunning surroundings offering impressive, spectacular views of the 29 islands.
- Undertake activities like sightseeing and, community walks, bird watching. Have lunch at the resort and embark on a canoe/ boat cruise on the lake to visit and interact with one of the 29 island communities like Punishment Island Akampande, home to unmarried pregnant girls. Return to the lodge for relaxation dinner and overnight.
