Itinerary
-
Day 1: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Murchison Falls National Park
- After an early morning breakfast at the hotel, connect with your driver and guide and embark on a 305km (4-5 hour) drive to the northwest of Uganda to Murchison Falls National Park. Along the way, make a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the proud home to Uganda’s only wild white rhinos totalling 33 in number. Embark on a 2-hour on-foot rhino trekking in the company of an experienced ranger guide. After the activity, have lunch at Ziwa and proceed to Murchison Falls National Park. Enter the park through the northern Wangkwar Gate along the Kampala-Arua road. Check-in, relax, have dinner, and overnight.
-
Day 2: Game Drive & Boat Cruise
After an early morning breakfast at 6:30 am, embark on a scenic buligi game drive lasting 3-4 hours through the savannah plains in the northern sector of the park. Spot African wildlife such as African bush elephants, Cape buffaloes, Rothschild giraffes, Jackson's hartebeests, Uganda kobs, and big cats like lions, leopards, and hyenas. Return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch.
- In the afternoon, link up with the guide and head to Paraa jetty for a 2-3 hour evening boat cruise along the Nile River. Witness magnificent sightings of aquatic mammals like hippos and giant crocodiles lurking menacingly from the sand bars. See elephants playing in the water, along with lots of water birds like shoebills. Disembark from the cruise and hike to the top of the falls for stunning views of the "devil's cauldron," where the Nile water violently crashes through a narrow, rocky gorge. The falls eject water from the Victoria Nile River through a 6-meter-wide chute, cascading down 30 meters to the Nile River. Retreat from the activity and return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
-
Day 3: Kampala
- After an early morning breakfast, embark on a journey back to Kampala. With an en-route lunch, proceed to Kampala with scenic views, plantations, and local markets.
