Itinerary
-
Day 1: Lake Mburo
- Begin your day with breakfast and check out of your hotel for a 3-4 hour drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Pass through remarkable landscapes and scenery in Uganda's countryside, with fresh fruit and vegetable markets along the way.
- Stop at the Uganda equator crossing at the Kayabwe trading center for amazing photo opportunities and the water experiment to demonstrate the geographical separation between the northern and southern hemispheres. Continue the drive past Lukaya town, a famous spot for Muchomo (grilled meat and chicken), and onto Masaka town before reaching Lyantonde.
- Check in at the lodge on arrival and settle for lunch. Connect to Rwonyo jetty for an afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo, offering spectacular sightings of hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, waterbucks, and a variety of bird species, including African fish eagles, egrets, herons, and narina trogon. Return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight. Enjoy the natural beauty of Uganda on this unforgettable experience.
-
Day 2: Whole Day Fishing Adventure
- After breakfast at around 8:00 am, embark on a whole-day sport fishing adventure on the scenic Lake Mburo. The lake has 6 different fish species, including tilapia, lungfish, and mudfish. Anglers are required to bring their own fishing equipment.
- You will have the opportunity to see a variety of wildlife, as the park is a haven for beautiful flora and fauna. The shores are home to crocodiles and birds, while hippos are permanent residents of the lake. Birdwatchers can spot rare species like the shoebill, hammerkop, African fish eagle, Rufous long-tailed starling, blue-headed weaver, and more. Retreat for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.
-
Day 3: Kampala
- After having breakfast, undertake a walking game viewing safari adventure in Lake Mburo national park. The park is the only park where you can track wildlife on foot since it doesn’t have predator animals like lions and elephants. While on the encounter, you will sight zebras, giraffes, impalas, Uganda kobs, common errands, bush bucks, and warthogs, among others. Retreat for relaxation, settle for lunch and drive back to Kampala.
