Day 1: Moshi- Marangu Gate- Mandara hut expand_more
Meet with the tour guide at the hotel, then travel towards Kilimanjaro Mountain's Marangu Gate. (1-hour drive).
Upon arrival at the Marangu Gate, complete the registration process and other formalities.
From this point on, the guides, cook, and porters will be ready to commence the hike towards Mandara Hut, the first camp.
Trek through the rainforest towards Mandara Hut.
Go on a side trip to Maundi Crater to see the surrounding area, including the view of Northern Tanzania and Kenya.
Spot towering Eucalyptus trees, birds, and colobus monkeys during the trek.
Halt for lunch along the way.
Arrive at Mandara Hut for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Mandara Hut- Horombo Hut expand_more
Have breakfast at Mandara hut, then trek to Horombo Hut (3760m) which is a ten-mile hike away and takes about 5 to 6 hours to reach.
About half an hour after leaving Mandara hut, emerge from the rainforest into an alpine meadow.
Enjoy the splendid views of the two peaks as well as the plains below the mountain. The vegetation is spectacular as well, especially higher up where the giant Lobelia flowers can be seen.
Halt for lunch along the way.
Arrive at Horombo Hut for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Acclimatization Day expand_more
Have breakfast, then hike for 2 hours to the Zebra rock for acclimatization, with an option to hike to Mawenzi peak.
Hike back to Horombo Hut for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Kibo Peak- Summit expand_more
Have breakfast, then begin climbing to Kibo Hut (4730m), at the foot of Kibo peak. The route takes climbers up to the saddle between the peaks of Kibo and Mawenzi, and then across the high altitude desert. It can take about six hours to climb.
Arrive at Kibo hut, take rest, have dinner and sleep.
Wake up around 1:00 am to start the hike to Uhuru point, the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. The trek may take 3 to 4 hours. \
Reach the summit, take in the view from the top and click lots of photos.

Day 5: Summit- Horombo Hut expand_more
Descend from the summit and trek to Uhuru peak. (5895m)
Return to Kibo hut for rest and have breakfast.
Head to Horombo hut for lunch and overnight stay.

Day 6: Horombo Hut- Marangu Gate- Moshi expand_more
Have breakfast at Horombo Hut, then descend to Marangu Gate.
Arrive at the Marangu Gate, where the vehicle will be waiting to transfer the climber(s) back to their hotel in Moshi.
