5-Day Trek To Mt. Kilimanjaro Via Marangu Route
Description
Conquer the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro through the easiest Marangu route, known as the "Coca Cola" or "tourist" route. It is famous among climbers, as the route offers accommodation in huts at every point you spend your night with solar lights and comfortable beds. At the top, enjoy a night hike at Uhuru peak before coming down to the starting point.

Day 1: Moshi to Marangu Gate to Mandara hut expand_more
Post breakfast, accompany the driver and head to Marangu Gate from Moshi.
Upon arrival, register your name, nationality, age, passport and any other required information.
Meet the guide, cook, porters and get ready to commence the trek.
Begin hiking to the first point at Mandara Hut. Walkthrough the rainforest and look for towering eucalyptus trees, birdlife, and Colobus monkeys.
A side trip to Maundi Crater is a good way to see the nearby area, including Northern Tanzania and Kenya.
Have lunch on the way. Arrive at Mandara hut for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut expand_more
Post breakfast, head to Horombo hut.
About half an hour after leaving Mandara hut, emerge from the rain forest into an alpine meadow.
Enjoy packed lunch.
Upon arrival at Horombo hut, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: Horombo hut to Kibo hut expand_more
- Post breakfast, continue to climb to Kibo Hut (4,730m), which is at the foot of Kibo peak.
- Upon arrival at Kibo hut, relax, have dinner and spend overnight at the camp.

Day 4: Descend to Horombo Hut expand_more
- Around 1:00 am, start hiking to Uhuru point, the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. This would take 3 to 4 hours.
After successfully reaching Uhuru peak (5,895m) in the morning, see the sunrise and spend some time at the summit.
After a while, descend to Kibo hut to relax and breakfast before heading to Horombo hut for lunch and overnight.

Day 5: Departure expand_more
Descend to Marangu gate. Upon arrival, get a certificate for completing the climb.
- Return to the vehicle area and transfer to the hotel in Moshi.
End of tour.
