Itinerary

1. Day 1- Arrival and transfer

   • Arrival at the airport in Dar es Salaam or Arusha
   • Transfer to the chosen accommodation facility
   • Check-in and briefing of the full program by the guide
   • Relax and unwind at the accommodation

   Accommodation: Hotel/Lodge

   Meals: Full Board (FB)

2. Day 2- Adventure and trekking with two horned chameleon

   • After breakfast, pick-up from the hotel and begin the trek.
   • Walk through the Kwembago loyal villages uphill to the Magamba rain forest.
   • Spot black and white colobus monkeys, velvet and blue monkeys, and other wildlife.
   • Trek to an old German trench with a historical background.
   • Continue trekking to Kiguluhakwewa peak for panoramic views of Lushoto town and surrounding villages.
   • Picnic lunch at the peak or in Magamba village.

   Overnight at Bush Baby homestay and campsite in Lukozi.

   Approximate trekking distance: 21 km (8-10 hrs)

3. Day 3- Cultural Exploration

   • After breakfast, begin trekking through the villages of Mgwashi.
   • Walk through farming areas and have lunch at Rangwi sister’s convent.
   • Visit traditional villages and learn about the local ways of life.
   • Discover traditional irrigation practices by the Shambaa people.
   • Explore medicinal and spiritual herbs along the route.

   Spend the night in a basic but neat accommodation.

4. Day 4- Pottery workshop

   • After breakfast, begin trekking to the pottery village for a workshop experience.
   • Trek along the escapement of the mountains to Mtae, with breathtaking views of Tsavo West, Kenya, and Mount Kilimanjaro.
   • Participate in the pottery workshop and learn to make pots using clay soil.
   • Continue trekking through the Usambara Mountains, enjoying scenic views of the plain.
   • Lunch at Magamba View Cottages Lodge.

5. Day 5- Departure

   • Early morning drive to Lushoto (63 km).
   • Continue the journey to Dar es Salaam, Tanga, or opt for more adventurous safaris in Moshi or Arusha.
   • End of Service.
