Itinerary
-
Arrival
- A transfer from the airport and accommodation can be arranged for an extra cost before the tour starts.
-
Day 1: Arusha - Tarangire National Park
- We will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha at 8 AM and take you to the beautiful Tarangire National Park. Famous for its diverse landscape with nine different vegetation zones, the park is particularly known for its ancient baobab trees, the largest trees on the continent, which fill the landscape and dwarf the animals around them. The river is teeming with wildlife, including a wide variety of birds, lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, and, of course, elephants. Tarangire has the largest concentration of elephants in the country, providing unique opportunities to observe interactions among elephant families.
- The lunch area features an observatory with stunning views of the river and wildlife, where you might even witness a hunt while enjoying your picnic.
- In the afternoon, you will continue with a game drive before returning to the lodge between 5 PM and 6 PM for dinner and an overnight stay.
-
Day 2: Serengeti National Park
- After breakfast, you will be transferred to the central part of the Serengeti, also known as Seronera.
- Your driver will help you find the animals you are most interested in seeing.
- Closer to lunchtime, you will visit the Serengeti Visitor Centre, where you will receive a lunchbox and learn about the park's animal populations and history. In this area, you may also spot hyraxes, the closest relatives of elephants.
- It is impossible to describe all the animals of the Serengeti plains, which number in the thousands, including elephants, buffaloes, ostriches, giraffes, jackals, hyenas, lions, antelopes, leopards, and cheetahs—just keep your eyes peeled and enjoy the natural beauty around you.
- In the evening, you will be transferred to a lodge for dinner and rest.
-
Day 3: Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Highlands
- After breakfast, you will continue your safari in the premium areas of the park. Much of this region consists of savanna with wide open spaces, offering opportunities to see cheetah-hunting antelopes.
- You also have the option to visit a Maasai Boma and Olduvai Gorge at an additional cost. The Olduvai Gorge is one of the most significant archaeological sites on Earth, revealing a remarkable record of animal and human evolution spanning from about two million to fifteen thousand years ago.
- By early afternoon, you will complete your safari and return to your hotel in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
-
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater
- On this day, it is best to leave the hotel as early as possible to see the variety of animals that are only active in the morning.
- At 6:30 am, you will set off for Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and after about an hour, you will already be inside the crater. Ngorongoro is one of the most famous and interesting of Tanzania's national parks because it has the greatest number of different animal species per square kilometre.
- You will have the chance to see buffaloes, elephants, lions, wildebeests, zebras, hippopotamuses, and feline species such as caracals and servals. The luckiest travellers might even see a rhinoceros, an animal whose numbers are rapidly declining.
- You will be dropped off in Arusha.
-
Day 5: Manyara National Park
- You will meet your professional tour guide/driver in the morning again, who will travel with you to the Lake Manyara National Park. This impressive park is one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife areas, consisting of a massive but shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park) at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment.
- The park’s varied habitat attracts a wide variety of animals, including one of Africa’s largest concentrations of elephants, Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions, as well as large flocks of flamingos attracted by the algae in the lake.
- Later you will drive back to Arusha for drop off.
-
Departure: End of tour
- Additional accommodation and transfer back to the airport can be arranged for an extra cost.
