Itinerary
-
Day 00: Kilimanjaro to Arusha
Upon arrival, meet and greet, then transfer to your hotel accommodation in Arusha town for a shower, dinner, and overnight.
-
Day 01: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After a leisurely breakfast, you will continue on a transfer to Tarangire National Park. It is one of the great parks with a variety of wildlife and is considered one of northern Tanzania's most beautiful wilderness areas. Tarangire Park hosts one of the largest elephant populations in Tanzania and is dotted with baobab and acacia thorn trees, adding more quality to the game drive. Besides the above details, the park is also home to various big cats, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, and tree-climbing pythons. Other wildlife inhabiting the game park includes giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and various antelope species such as gazelles. Lunch will be taken at the picnic site overlooking the Tarangire River. In the afternoon, drive to your Lodge/Camp for dinner and overnight.
-
Day 02: Tarangire to Lake Manyara National Park
Today, you start the morning with a transfer to Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara National Park has a lovely environment with a thin green band of forest, flanked on one side by the cliffs of the Rift Valley Wall and the other by the shores of the ancient soda lake. Wildlife here is very diverse. If you are lucky, you will see many baboons and the famous tree-climbing lion. In addition to that, Lake Manyara also hosts a great number of bird species, hence being an attractive park for bird lovers. Lunch will be taken at a picnic site. In the afternoon, you drive to Mto wa Mbu or Karatu for dinner and overnight at Camp/Lodge.
-
Day 03: Mto wa Mbu or Karatu to Serengeti National Park
After a leisurely breakfast, you depart for Serengeti National Park. In the Maasai language, "Serengeti" means "endless plain". The park stretches for over 15,000 square kilometres. It is renowned for its famous annual wildebeest migration, with over one and a half million wildebeest and 250,000 zebras. Also, it is one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites covering around 5,700 square miles of grassland plains, savannah, forest, and woodlands. The park also contains a variety of wildlife, including the “Big Five.” There are also many cheetahs to be seen, Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles, hyenas, impala, and even the elusive African wild dog. You will proceed to your lodge/Camp in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight.
-
Day 04: Serengeti National Park
Full-day game drive exploring Serengeti in search of the “Big Five.” The Serengeti ecosystem is home to the "Big Five." The other main species include zebra, wildebeest, various species of gazelles and antelopes, giraffes, cheetahs, hyenas, elephants, hippopotamus, crocodiles, and some primate species such as velvet monkeys and olive baboons. It is also an endemic bird area, with a total of 505 species being documented so far. In the evening, drive to your lodge/Camp for dinner and overnight.
-
Day 05: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Another day with an early morning game drive, searching for big cats while hunting. Early morning is the best time for wildlife to hunt because most of the animals are active at this time. In the late morning, you proceed with an en-route game drive to Ngorongoro. Lunch will be taken at a picnic site. You have the option to visit Olduvai Gorge en route. The crater and its surrounding highlands are one of Africa's most beautiful regions, with volcanic craters forming stunning backdrops to some of the richest grazing grounds in Africa. With 600-meter-high walls and a rich volcanic floor covering 260 km2, the crater is the world's largest inactive, intact, and unfilled volcanic caldera, a crater formed when a large volcano exploded and collapsed on itself two to three million years ago. It is estimated that the height of the original volcano ranged between 4,500 to 5,800 meters high. Dinner and overnight at Lodge/Camp.
-
Day 06: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
Today, early in the morning, you descend to the crater floor for a crater tour and game drive. With its abundant water, excellent grazing, and natural protection from the densely vegetated crater walls, the crater provides shelter to over 25,000 animals, including the endangered Black Rhinoceros. Lunch will be taken at a picnic site inside the crater. In the afternoon, you drive back to Arusha for your accommodation or flight to the next destination.
