Itinerary

1. Day 1: Kilimanjaro International Airport to Arusha

   • You will be met at the International Airport of Kilimanjaro by your driver/tour guide and our representative.

   • After a short introduction, you will be offered mineral water and transferred to Arusha.

   Overnight stay at the Green Mountain Hotel.

2. Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

   • Leave the lodge with your packed lunches and drive towards Tarangire, Tanzania's third-largest national park and sanctuary for an unusually large elephant population.

   • During the game drive, you will see majestic baobab trees that are an interesting feature of the park and dwarf the animals that feed beneath them. Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area. There is a great diversity of wildlife, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, and up to six thousand elephants.

   • Lunch boxes will be provided to you at the picnic point.

   • After the game drives, leave the park and drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight stay at Country Lodge.

3. Day 3: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park

   • After breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park, passing via Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority.

   • Your driver will halt for some of the beautiful views overlooking the crater for sightseeing on the way to Serengeti.

   • Optional activity here is to visit the Olduvai Gorge.

   • On crossing the border, your driver/Tanzania guide will provide a picnic lunch, followed by game viewing en route to Serengeti.

   • Proceed to Tortlis Tented Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

4. Day 4: Full Day Game Drives in Serengeti National Park

   • Begin with early morning game drives to see nocturnal predators returning from their hunt and animals waking up early morning. One can see many animals, including Lions, Elephants, Giraffes, Wildebeests, Zebras, Leopards, Cheetahs, warthogs, Hyena and many birds.

   • Migration takes place around Serengeti plains, and at that particular time, millions of wildebeest and zebra go together, followed by predators.

   • Lunchboxes will be provided during the game drive.

   • Later, drive back to Serengeti Tortlis Tented camp for dinner and overnight stay.

5. Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

   • Leave for early morning game drives.

   • After lunch, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

   • On your way, you will pass at the Maasai boma for a short but remarkable and authentic cultural tour with the Maasai.

   Dinner and overnight stay at Rhino Lodge at Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

6. Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

   • After breakfast, you will drive to Ngorongoro and descend into the crater floor for a wonderful game drive (with a picnic lunch) inside the Ngorongoro Crater, often described as one of the wonders of the world. It is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s densest animal populations. It is one of the few places where the rare black rhino can be observed in their natural setting. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many bird species. With a bit of luck, the ‘Big Five’ can be seen during one game drive only.

   • Then late afternoon, ascend the crater walls and drive to Arusha for an overnight stay at Green Mountain Hotel. (Lunchbox included.)

7. Day 7: Departure

   • At leisure and depending on your flight schedule, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home or for an extension.
