Itinerary
-
Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, leave the hotel and drive to Lake Manyara national park for game drives and game viewing.
You can see many animals such as buffalos, elephants, giraffes, impalas, hippos, and monkeys while you are here.
Manyara also offers the rare sight of lions on trees, so you must look out for that.
Drive to Fanaka Campsites for dinner and overnight.
-
Day 2: Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you start on your way to Serengeti National Park with picnic lunch included.
On the way, you may opt to stop at the Olduvai Gorge, where anthropologists Louis and Mary Leakey made many significant discoveries, contributing to the theory that human life originated in Africa.
After stopping for your picnic lunch on a kopje (rock outcropping) in Serengeti, you will continue further into the park and go on a sunset game drive.
Later you will drive to Seronera Campsite for dinner and an overnight stay.
-
Day 3: Full Day Game Drives in Serengeti National Park
Early morning game drive is crucial to see the nocturnal predators returning from their night hunts and animals waking up early in the morning.
This will be followed by a full-day Serengeti National Park tour, so you can spot the animals that reside here.
Serengeti, the name, comes from Maasai Language and means 'endless plain'. The plains are home to many animals, including lions, elephants, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, leopards, cheetahs, warthogs, hyenas and huge birdlife.
The migration of wildebeests and zebras may be underway during specific times, and this wonder can also be observed.
Dinner and overnight at Seronera Campsite.
-
Day 4: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater
You will have breakfast at the camp before embarking on an early morning game drive.
The Migration, consisting of around 2 million animals, is on the move all year round, and depending on the season, you may be able to see the impressive phenomena.
Naturally, it also attracts a mass of predators, and you may be able to see a band of lionesses gather for a hunt.
In the afternoon, you will drive to Simba Campsite located on the Ngorongoro Crater rim.
Dinner and overnight at Simba Campsite.
-
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
After breakfast, you will descend into the crater for a wonderful game drive (with a picnic lunch). Ngorongoro Crater is not only the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera but also is home to Africa’s densest animal populations.
Few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls. You can expect to see lions, buffalos, rare Black Rhino, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, antelopes, and many birds species.
Then late afternoon, we ascend the crater wall and drive back to Arusha for dinner and overnight stay.
