Itinerary

1. Day 1: Fly-in Safari from Zanzibar to Nyerere National Park (Selous Game Reserve)

   • Pick up from your hotel in Zanzibar early in the morning.

   • Transfer to the airport for a 30-minute flight to Nyerere National Park, departing at 6:00 AM.

   • Arrive at Mtemere Airstrip and begin your game drive safari immediately.

   • Carry a packed lunch to maximize your game drive time in the park.

   • Enjoy a picnic lunch break at a safe vantage point while spotting wildlife and admiring scenic views.

   • Observe diverse wildlife such as elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, elands, kudus, wildebeests, antelopes, lions, leopards, rare wild dogs, jackals, and many colorful birds.

   • Drive to your safari camp in the late evening for dinner and overnight stay.

2. Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive

   • Have breakfast at the camp.

   • Embark on a full-day game drive taking different routes from the previous day.

   • Meet your professional drivers and guides at Selous Safari Lodge for the day’s activities.

   • Spot various animals including elephants, zebras, giraffes, and antelopes.

   • Enjoy birdwatching and take in the diverse landscapes, including wetlands, dry grasslands, light acacia forests, and higher grounds with vast mountain views.

   • Visit a hot spring and swim if road conditions permit, especially outside the rainy season.

   • Return to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.

3. Day 3: Boat Safari on Rufiji River, Masai Village Tour, and Departure

   • Begin early with a morning sunrise boat safari on the Rufiji River starting at 6:30 AM for two and a half hours.

   • Spot abundant birdlife, hippos, and crocodiles along the river.

   • Return to the lodge for breakfast.

   • Depart at 11:00 AM for a Masai village tour to explore local life and culture.

   • Return to the camp for lunch at 1:00 PM.

   • After lunch, drive to the airstrip for your return flight to Zanzibar.
