The itinerary

1
Day 01

Arusha to Tarangire National Park Safari

  • After breakfast, the tour departs.

  • Your first stop is Arusha Town for any last-minute purchases before heading off on safari.

  • Afterward, continue to Tarangire National Park. The park offers plenty of breathtaking views and a large variety of habitats, including Acacia woodlands, water, baobab-strewn cliffs, open grasslands, and swamps. Thanks to the Tarangire River, the park is able to support a large number of animal species and incredible birdlife. Tarangire has the largest concentration of elephants per square kilometer than anywhere else in the world, as well as a host of predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs.

Dinner and overnight stay at the Manyara Sun Bright Campsite.

Day 02

Journey to Serengeti via Karatu and Ngorongoro

  • After breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park via the beautiful high-lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, descend into the heart of wild Africa - Serengeti National Park - with its endless plains rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see.

  • Head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park. It features the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti's species.

  • Arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in Serengeti National Park.

Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Seronera Campsite for 2 nights.

Meals: Lunch, dinner, bed and breakfast.

3
Day 03

Full-Day Game Viewing in Central Serengeti

  • Spend the day exploring the area's rich habitats in the central part of the park, known for its great sightings of big cats. The lion research here is the second-longest wild research study in the wild, and depending on the time of year, you might see the Great Migration. Other sightings may include elephants, hippos, giraffes, hyenas, buffaloes, and gazelles.

Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Seronera Campsite.

Meals: Lunch, dinner, bed and breakfast.

4
Day 04

Early Game Drive and Transfer to Ngorongoro

  • Go for an early morning game drive and then depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with your Tanzanian safari guide.

  • Arrive at the campsite and enjoy the camping area with a great view of the crater floor, or drive to the local pubs and enjoy some beers.

Ngorongoro Simba Campsite is where you will have dinner and stay overnight.

Meals: Lunch, dinner, bed and breakfast.

5
Day 05

Ngorongoro Crater Wildlife Viewing to Lake Eyasi

  • After an early breakfast, descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife. Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area supports a vast variety of animals, including herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big drawcard of this picturesque national park is its dense population of predators, including lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the ever-elusive leopards that sometimes require a trained eye to spot.

  • Visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos, and other water birds can usually be seen here.

  • In the late afternoon, transfer to Eyasi for dinner and an overnight stay at Eyasi Campsite.

6
Day 06

Bushmen Experience at Lake Eyasi and Return to Arusha

  • Wake up early in the morning and go hunting with the Bushmen alongside your expert naturalist. This is one of the best cultural activities one can do in Africa.

  • Later, return to the camp and take part in an arrow-shooting competition.

  • Drive from the camp and then proceed to Arusha.
