Itinerary
-
Day 1 - Tarangire National Park
- After breakfast, your driver will be at your hotel ready to take an approximate 2-hour drive to Tarangire National Park.
- The park is home to Buffaloes, Zebra and Wildebeests, which are always closely followed by a range of predators such as lions, leopards are seen occasionally, but cheetahs are rarely spotted. The Tarangire National Park is the best place to view elephants up close and Giant Baobab trees.
- Lunch at the picnic site on the view of Tarangire River.
- Dinner and overnight Tarangire.
Additional Notes: This is your first day on safari, so we ask that you please pay special attention to the National Parks visitor and our company recommendations.
-
Day 2 - Serengeti National Park
- After breakfast, you will travel via the cooler highlands towards the southern Serengeti National Park. This is the largest in Tanzania and has diverse habitats and landscapes- short grass plains, savannah, Thick bush, Lakes and Bizarre rock formations called Kopjes dot the grassy landscape where Predators are often seen. The Serengeti is famous for its yearly migration when hundreds of thousands of wildebeests and Zebra trek to find fresh grass and water.
- Lunch at a picnic site. Dinner and overnight at tented camps.
-
Day 3 - Serengeti National Park (Follow Animal Migration)
- After breakfast, you will enjoy a game drive in the Serengeti National Park. The areas that you visit will depend upon where the migrating herds are. Predators follow closely behind the trekking animals, including lions, leopards (in the acacia trees) and cheetahs. During the short rainy season in November and December, the herds move from the northern hills to the southern plains.
- They return up north during the longer rainy season from April to June. As the migration depends entirely on the yearly rainfalls, the location of the herds may vary from one year to another, although your guide will know where to locate the animals and where to see them best.
Dinner and overnight at camps.
-
Day 4 - Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
- On your outward journey to the park gate, you will enjoy more game viewing before leaving the Serengeti National Park in the early afternoon to continue your journey to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
- On the way, you can also see the Maasai Boma with their traditional life; you will be staying at the lodge on Ngorongoro Crater's rim.
Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro.
-
Day 5 - Ngorongoro Conservation Area
- After breakfast, you will descend the crater 600m down the crater for the game. The massive collapsed volcano is home to over 25000 mammals ranging from the Big Five- Lion, Rhino, Elephant, Buffalo, and Leopard – to spotted Hyena and some of the more than 500 bird species.
- After an extensive game drive and a picnic for lunch at Hippo pool, you will leave the caldera; in the late afternoon, you will leave the crater and drive to Manyara for dinner and overnight.
-
Day 6 - Manyara National Park
- Early wake-up time, after getting breakfast. The game drive will start in the Manyara N.P.
- The entire territory of this park is cut through with groundwater streams that provide a favourable environment for plants and, in addition, for many birds (pink flamingos) and African forest animals.
- Around lunchtime, you will visit the Maji Moto (Hot Springs) and be provided with a personal lunchbox. After this stop, the safari will continue, and by evening, you will be transferred to a hotel in Arusha town to end your safari.
