Itinerary

1. Day 1 – Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport

   • Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO).

   • Meet your local Nyangulo Africa representative.

   • Transfer to your hotel in Arusha by private vehicle.

   • Attend a full pre-climb briefing later that evening or early the next morning.

   Overnight at a hotel in Arusha.

2. Day 2 – Begin Trek: Machame Gate to Machame Camp

   • Transfer to Machame Gate after breakfast.

   • Register at the gate and begin the ascent through rainforest trails.

   • Reach Machame Camp at 3000 meters for overnight camping.

   • Observe wildlife and lush forest surroundings during the hike.

3. Day 3 – Machame Camp to Shira Cave Camp

   • Leave the forest zone behind after breakfast.

   • Cross a small valley and ascend a steep ridge covered in heather.

   • Enter the moorland zone and continue west to Shira Cave Camp.

   • Prepare for colder temperatures as altitude increases.

4. Day 4 – Shira Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower

   • Ascend to 4600 meters at Lava Tower for lunch and acclimatization.

   • Follow the 'walk high, sleep low' strategy to reduce altitude sickness.

   • Descend to Barranco Camp at 3950 meters below the impressive Breach Wall.

   • Take in dramatic views of the Western Breach and glaciers.

5. Day 5 – Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

   • Begin the day with a scramble up the Great Barranco Wall.

   • Traverse alpine desert terrain beneath the icefalls of the southern glaciers.

   • Arrive at Karanga Camp for rest and overnight.

   • Prepare physically and mentally for summit day.

6. Day 6 – Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

   • Climb steadily to Barafu Camp at 4675 meters.

   • Join the Mweka descent trail junction en route.

   • Rest and enjoy panoramic views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks.

   Eat dinner early and prepare gear for the summit push.

7. Day 7 – Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

   • Wake at 23:30 for tea and biscuits before summit attempt.

   • Begin the trek in darkness, ascending steep scree toward Stella Point.

   • Reach Stella Point at 5732 meters, then continue to Uhuru Peak at 5895 meters.

   • Celebrate reaching the summit of Africa.

   • Descend back to Barafu for a short rest and lunch.

   • Continue descending to Mweka Camp for overnight stay.

8. Day 8 – Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate to Arusha

   • Descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate.

   • Collect summit certificates and celebrate your achievement.

   • Transfer back to your hotel in Arusha for relaxation and overnight.

   • Reflect on the successful climb and recover from the trek.

9. Day 9 – Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

   • Depart Arusha after breakfast with your safari guide.

   • Arrive at Lake Manyara for an afternoon game drive.

   • Explore the soda lake and observe flamingoes, storks, herons, and baboons.

   • Search for tree-climbing lions and elephants within the park.

   Stay overnight at a safari lodge in Karatu.

10. Day 10 – Full-Day Safari in Ngorongoro Crater

    • Drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area after early breakfast.

    • Descend 610 meters into the crater for a full-day game drive.

    • Spot all members of the Big Five in a single day.

    • Visit a UNESCO-listed caldera rich with wildlife and unique landscapes.

    • Return to the lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight stay.

11. Day 11 – Tarangire National Park to Arusha to Kilimanjaro Airport

    • Depart for Tarangire National Park in the morning.

    • Explore savannahs filled with elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and baobab trees.

    • Identify over 550 bird species, including the Kori Bustard and hornbills.

    • Enjoy a final bush lunch inside the park.

    • Return to Arusha by 17:00 and continue to Kilimanjaro Airport for evening departure.

    • Optionally request an additional overnight stay in Arusha if your flight departs the next day.
